Beebikeskus has a nice selection of items for a new baby. Everything from car seats and strollers to changing tables and toys. I've personally purchased quite a few things here:

BabyCity is a huge new two level store that just opened in Mustika keskus in Tallinn. The have pretty much everything you can think of. There are also a couple other smaller baby stores in Mustika as well.

There is a baby shop in the Lääne-Tallinna Keskhaigla Naistekliinik (West Tallinn Central Hospital Womens Clinic) or also known as Pelgulinna Sünnitusmaja (Pelgulinn Birthing House).

It's a small little shop but they have some cute stuff and it's a good place to buy non-prescription medicinal items for your baby.

There are also childrens stores located in the larger shopping centers in Tallinn.

Had a poor experience with Baby City today. A couple days ago I went in there to buy a mobile for my daughters crib. When I got home and assembled the mobile, I discovered it didn't work. It had a wind up mechanism that once wound up, was supposed to spin the mobile and play a song. Well, it didn't and quite frankly the whole thing was a piece of crap.

So back to Baby City I go this morning. I politely told the friendly cashier of the problem and she took out the defective part and confirmed that it didn't work. So I simply asked for my money back. She said she'd have to call the manager. Ok.

Out comes the manager and the cashier shows her the defect and I politely ask the manager for my money back. Manager ignores me and orders the cashier to go see if there is another one on the shelf to exchange it. No, I say, I don't want another one, I just want my money back. She then tells me they don't give money back. Excuse me? I'm sorry, but I don't want to trade this piece crap in for another exact piece of crap.

So I got a bit more stern and demanded my money back. And she had no other proof of some exchange only policy. She still said no and I wasn't leaving without my money. So a line starts to build up around me while we go back and forth about this one more time. So finally with everyone intently looking on to see how this will play out, she finally relents and unhappily refunds my money.

I give her a big smile, a suur tänu and go on my way.

I'm not mentioning this to trash Baby City, but to let folks know that if you need to return something there you may get hassled over it. I don't know if it was just that one lady or what, but stand your ground and demand your money back and you'll get it.
