Only places in Tallinn I've ever found it is at the the Selver grocery/department store chains. They carry one brand of yellow cheddar. Usually on the top shelf of the cheese aisle. _________________ Estonia Forum: www.estoniaforum.org

Yeah, I don't know the deal. There is generally a good selection of cheeses many places, but just not cheddar.
I don't eat it all that frequently, but my wife and I were discussing food one day and come to find out she had never eaten cheddar cheese.
So I went hunting for it and only came up with the one brand at Selver. Nothing at the Prisma's or Rimi's. I don't know about the bigger Konsum's down south though, the little one in Põlva doesn't carry it.
I think if Estonians had a selection of cheddars they would really take to it.
When I lived in Florida we had a big chain of grocery stores called Publix. They would order anything for you at your request and if it was popular they would increase the order and widen the selection of whatever the item was. I think if I walked into Rimi and told them to order me 5 kinds of cheddar they'd look at me like I was from another planet. _________________ Estonia Forum: www.estoniaforum.org

| If you want something exotic like that, the chains won't help. Kaubamaja or Stockmann's food halls will.

Ah, I've never shopped at Stockmanns. Guess I'm low class. Why is it considered exotic is what I want to know? _________________ Estonia Forum: www.estoniaforum.org
