So there I was... doing some work on the computer and the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno was playing in the background. I don't normally watch this show, but there it was. All of a sudden Leno welcomes Howie Mandel to the set. Now, I think Mandel is a poor comedian and even worse actor. He now hosts a TV game show called "Deal or no deal" (I never watch games shows either) that apparently has become popular. Other countries including Estonia have the show on... or are about to. (With their own hosts).

Anyway, Leno asks him what he had been up to. Mandel goes on to say he had just returned from Estonia. While he had nothing but good to say about Estonia, you could tell that he didn't take the time to actually LEARN anything about Estonia... even to the point of knowing where it was located.

Here's a bit of the audio to show you what I mean:

"It used to be Russia." Thanks Howie, you moron.

The Estonian version is called Võta või Jäta.

My wife can't stand the host of that show. Laughing

What the hell was that comment about the beets all about Confused
It's sorta like the British humor... condescending and snide and then one or two comments are made that are supposed to cloak the condescension but just sorta perpetuate it like "they're very nice". It's people like that, in America or Britain that make people like a friend of mine say that the welsh hump sheep and the estonians bang donkeys.

Kinda off topic, but I thought this entry was really interesting ("tools of foreign policy")

EDIT: The guy creeps me out. He looks like Mr. Propper's mutant brother Smile
