Hey, let's start this one out by listing our favorite pubs in Estonia, so the thirsty travelers passing through will know where to quench their thirst.

If you're in Tartu I'd recommend the Püssirohukelder (Gun Powder Cellar).

Any of the 4 (or is it 5?) St. Patrick's in Tallinn are excellent, especially the ones in the Old Town which serve a hot tasty lunch for 39EEK (€2.50) on the Estonian meals of the day menu.

Recently I was in Kompressor, a pancake café in the Old Town and I was able to get a half liter glass of gooseberry cider. Fancy or what?

There's a place called Scotland Yard in downtown Tallinn. It's a big place and like the name suggests, the place has a British police them.

They have 2 floors and a little stage in the middle of the place for live music. Drink prices are on the expensive side and the food is average. I've been there twice and the first time I had really good service and the second time we had lousy service. Seems to really depend what waitress you get.

Anyway, it's worth checking out at least once to judge for yourself, especially if a good band is playing. Just catch a buzz before you get there to save money on drinks.

Pub Zavood,Tartu. Well, this is underground - at least you will find it in the basement. Students love this place because of favorable prices . Sometimes there are also live gigs - rock, metal and indie style. If you are in the mood for something different then Zavood is probably your place! Smile

Zavood 0wns j00.

It's not so much the drinks prices, though it is on the cheaper end of the spectrum in Tartu; the point of Zavood is that it's where you go after all the clubs have closed. Late at night it's either Zavood, Half Six (which a lot of my friends have an inexplicable aversion to), or Krooks (too far up the hill).

The new Underground pub behind the London Hotel's parking lot is OK and fairly cheap.
